SAN DIEGO October 28, 2016 – When desperate, trusting citizens are lured toward the ‘something for nothing’ trap, freedoms vanish as the trap closes shut. Colluding, socialist jailors, intolerant of escape, hold the keys to the captive’s basic survival.
Once bound by government dependence, the citizens’ thoughts and desires are of no prolonged consequence to the overseer. The ripe fields of a Republic’s opportunities are replaced with a limited existence. Voter loyalty is the demand for needs fulfilled, and force and intimidation are used to sway the rebellious. The socialist mastermind becomes a saver and enslaver all in one act, transforming the citizen, stripped of potential, robbed of his or her originality, to exist in a repressive scheme – with an uncertain future.
A socialist mastermind who sets out to ‘fundamentally transform’ becomes addicted to power through energetic and sustained attacks on individual liberty.
Where is the ‘something for nothing’ in Detroit, where the Democrats lured with a ‘promise to take care of’ the blue-collar worker? The transformation that has taken place because of false promises and failed economic policies have turned family-filled, working neighborhoods into demolished and decaying ghost communities.
In June 2014, Motor City Muckraker stated, “Eight neighborhoods in Detroit have been so ravaged by crime, foreclosures, fires and scrappers that more than a third of the homes and businesses are abandoned, according to recently released findings from an unprecedented survey of every Detroit parcel…Many of the areas have been consumed by thick brush, collapsing houses and discarded tires.”
The socialist Democrats, sporting a utopian delusion, continue to sell themselves as the solution while ignoring the stark downturn from the time when Detroit’s children played, schools bells rang, and factory horns blared. What residents remain in their crumbled world, would call their lives anything but paradisiacal. This can happen to any city or society that steps into the jaws of an irreversible pitfall.
In Joel Gilbert’s film, There’s No Place like Utopia, we see Gilbert following the yellow brick road to find out what is at the end of the Democrats’ progressive rainbow. He visits the ruins of Detroit, Chicago’s South Side slums, and addresses Denver’s invasion of illegals and urban removal in Newark. Gilbert interviews a range of people ensnared by generations of oppression and Barack Obama’s “hope and change” lures.
Washington Times reported in July 2014, “You gotta remember Peggy Joseph! She’s the Florida woman who said after an Obama speech in 2008: “I won’t have to worry about puttin’ gas in my car; I won’t have to worry about payin’ my mortgage.” Filmmaker Gilbert found Peggy and asked,
“Did Obama pay for your mortgage and did he pay for your gas?” Joseph laughs and replies, “Absolutely not! Mortgage got worse and gas prices got higher … At that time we needed a change but a change for the better not the worse.”
What helped make things worse for Detroit? Drinking in a Clinton Democrat’s detrimental trade policy, the North American Free Trade Agreement, or NAFTA, which took effect on Jan. 1, 1994.
In Economy in Crisis, May 2016, James Moreland reported, “At the time, President Bill Clinton assured Americans it would be a way to secure American jobs in the future. “NAFTA means jobs, American jobs and good-paying American jobs,” Clinton said on the day he signed the agreement.” Since then, however, and according to Moreland, “it has created massive trade deficits and encourages companies to move jobs across the border.”
The ‘Made in America’ exodus out of the US continues, as illegal immigrants make their exodus in the US, defying the law. Along with usurping valuable resources and taxing already-stressed entitlement programs, the NAFTA benefits insure that, “This removes jobs from hard-working Americans and drives down our wages while increasing the influx of cheap goods from Mexico,” adds Moreland.
Even for the novice economist – NAFTA spells disaster for Americans who could otherwise take care of themselves.
For free healthcare, free education, free food, and free Obama phones – the money has to come from somewhere. Add to that, the claims of a record number of unemployed. Over 94,708,000 Americans are not in labor force, as reported by CNS news, in June 2016. Mrs. Clinton vows to go after wealthy coffers she sees as the nation’s right to own and redistribute.
“I want to make sure the wealthy pay their fair share, which they have not been doing. I want the Buffett Rule to be in effect, where millionaires have to pay 30 percent tax rates instead of 10 percent to nothing in some cases. I want to make sure we rein in the excessive use of political power to feather the nest and support the super wealthy.” (Hillary Clinton, Kiplinger, August 2016)
At some point, the wealthy will not be wealthy anymore and the dependent will go home empty-handed. Conversely, Donald Trump stated for his plan to cut taxes,
“Middle-income Americans and businesses will experience profound relief, and taxes will be greatly simplified for everyone. I mean everyone…Reducing taxes will cause new companies and new jobs to come roaring back into our country.”(Donald Trump, Kiplinger, August 2016)
The way injury impedes survival of the fittest, injury to free market growth by excessive taxation impedes economic survival. Clinton’s socialist deception of ‘fairness’ is big government re-distribution (theft) that can lead to less -than- par profit outlooks and weak performance, diminished quality control, layoffs, bankruptcies, government takeovers, and dissolutions for both corporations and middle-America small businesses.
“I’m telling you right now, we’re going to write fairer rules for the middle class…” (Hillary Clinton to Warren Buffet, Daily Caller, August 2016)
The ‘fairness lie’ is a power-play to rob from free enterprise endeavors to give to the ‘less fortunate’ – in the name of social ‘equality’. Mark Levin stated in his book, Ameritopia, “Not only has liberty nothing to do with any sort of equality, but it is even bound to produce inequality in many respects.“
“Don’t let anybody tell you that it’s corporations and businesses that create jobs.” (Hillary Clinton, Town Hall, June 2015, 20 Hillary Clinton Quotes You Should Read Before Voting For Her)
Thankfully, many talented, hard-working Americans going for the American dream don’t buy that lie, yet their freedom to ‘reach the stars’ is at risk for exploitation by rapacious socialist advances.
In the animal world, does not the hunter rise to the pinnacle of strength and prowess to survive? The hunter does not hold back so other animals ‘less fortunate’ can take its prize. Socialism, which promotes mediocrity, is the opposite of nature, which is sustained by achievement.
In a June 2016 report, by The College Fix, we read, “University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Professor, Jack Stauder, says his political and ideological conversion away from socialism and Marxism occurred when he actually witnessed these systems in action.”
“I gradually became disenchanted with Marxism by visiting many of the countries that had tried to shape their societies to conform to its doctrines. I was disillusioned by the realities I saw in … socialist countries – the USSR, Eastern Europe, China, Cuba, etc.,” Stauder told The College Fix via email.
“I came to recognize that socialism doesn’t work, and that its ‘revolutionary’ imposition inevitably leads to cruelty, injustice, and the loss of freedom,” the professor continued, adding…”I succeeded in disabusing myself of the utopian notions that fatally attract people to leftist ideas.”
For those who feel deserving of a ‘something for nothing’ existence, Confucius has some sage advice: Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.
Work, not entitlement, is the blood of life. For the naïve and starry-eyed, who think socialism is the answer, be reminded of the core of leftist Democratic ideals. Compare it to what Mark Levin calls “pseudo “ideal” societies in which a heroic despot [government]…claims the ability and authority to provide for all the needs and fulfill all the wants of the individual – in exchange for his abject servitude.”
In that despotic trade-off, a free market is replaced with a command operation. “Milton Friedman, an American economist, noted that command economies [Communist system] limit individual freedom to operate. He also believed that economic decisions in a command economy would be made based on the political self-interest of government officials and not promote economic growth.” (Investopedia, October 2014)
Abject servitude demands conformists, void of uniqueness and opinion – in other words, monotony.
“We are at a stage in history in which remolding society is one of the great challenges facing all of us in the West.” (Hillary Clinton per Barbara Olson’s Hell to Pay: The Unfolding Story of Hillary Rodham Clinton, Townhall, June 2015)
Hopeful Presidential candidate Clinton and all her followers have expertly set socialist traps and are operating them 24/7, as the election bears down on the fate of a free nation. Imagine the tears of those who have fought and died for this great Republic at risk to fall to progressive predators prowling hallowed ground, once won by emerging patriots.
Remember your America, equal in her liberties, but unequal in her path to greatness – embracing individual passions, distinctiveness, and complexities to be all she can be.
